Mormor, Mike's Swedish grandma, gave him a pointing his grandfather had done of her many years ago. Mike was so excited to have his own Airola painting that it finally motivated him to remove the ugly pipe sticking out of our living room wall. We hung the painting there just before his birthday and it looks great!
In February we celebrated Mike's birthday. We just had a small get together and I made Mike's favorite cake, a snickers cake. Elijah and his cousin William wanted to help Mike blow out the candles. Good thing we didn't put the correct number on there or he would have needed the help! :)

Beautiful painting! It is so much more meaningful to have artwork when you know (and especially are related to) the artist. My mom has given me a few of his paintings also, and I love having them in my house.
